In the following terms and conditions set out by Sligo Surf Experience, 'you' refers to the person making the booking or the Party Leader and 'we', 'our' or 'us' or 'the surf school' refers to Sligo Surf Experience. The term 'surf lesson' covers all surf experiences offered by Sligo Surf Experience: group lessons, private lessons, bodyboarding lessons and surf camps.
By visiting our website and purchasing a product from us, you engage in our 'service' and agree to be bound by the following conditions. Please read these terms carefully.
When you book a surf lesson online via our website or a surf booking is confirmed by us either verbally, in writing, via email or on the phone a contract is made between you, the party leader, and Sligo Surf Experience.
When booking over the phone the contract is a verbal contract. In the case of late telephone bookings and/or walk-in bookings when written or e-mail confirmation is not possible then the agreement is also verbal contract.
When you make a confirmed booking with us this implies you have read and agree with the terms and conditions set out below. Exceptions to these terms and conditions cannot be made for any reason.
The person making the booking accepts responsibility for payment by everyone on the booking for their surf lesson. It is their responsibility to ensure that all other persons on the booking read the terms and conditions below and that they are aware of the booking details (times, dates et cetera).
All participants must complete a surf lesson sign in sheet before they will be allowed to take part in any surf lessons.
Sligo Surf Experience does not accept any liability caused through failure to complete the surf sign in sheet. All participants must make Sligo Surf Experience aware of any medical conditions, illnesses (for example, asthma, epilepsy), disability, any phobia, allergies or medication you are taking or any injuries you have sustained prior to each lesson.
Parents or guardians must sign for surf lesson participants who are under 16 years of age. Where applicable, in certain groups a group leader/guardian can sign for a minor participant. For example, a school teacher can sign on behalf of a group from that school, a Scout Leader can sign on behalf of a group from that Scouting Organisation et cetera.
We do not accept any responsibility for a leader/guardian who has failed to get participation forms signed for their group.
The person who makes a group booking is the party leader and is responsibility for payment for everyone listed on the booking. The party leader is responsible for ensuring that all other persons listed in the booking are aware of the terms and conditions. To fully secure a booking, full payment can be made at the time of booking using our online payment system using a credit/debit card. If preferred, payment by PayPal, Revolut, cheque or bank transfer is also possible. Otherwise, without putting a deposit on your surf lesson, all surf lessons are booked on a first come first surf basis. Sligo Surf Experience reserves the right to cancel a person's place if full payment is not received prior to the surf lesson.
All surf lessons prices are subject to change without advance notice, however, once you have made your booking and paid for a surf lesson the price will not normally be subject to any changes

Groups larger than 10 pax require a €100 deposit
Groups larger than 14 pax require a €140 deposit
Groups larger than 20 pax require a €200 deposit
Deposits are non-refundable. Placing a deposit on surf lesson means you are making a legally binding contract to purchase the surf lesson. If you change your mind you have broken the contract and forfeited your deposit.
Our peak season means the months July and August. Off peak season means the months of April, May, September, October. Winter season means the months November, December, January, February, March.

Any cancellations or amendments to your booking must be made via email to Sligo Surf Experience and will only be accepted from the date they are received by us.
If the group number increases from the original booking number, every effort will be made to accommodate the new group number, however, the date/time of the surf lesson, the availability and demand for surf lessons on the date and the availability of surf instructor(s) will be the deciding factor. At times, it may be necessary to split a group in two and run back to back lessons according to group size, tide/weather/surf conditions, instructor availability et cetera.
In the case where your group size drops in numbers from the original booking, we must receive notification of this in due time in writing or via email.
During peak season (July and August), if the changes to your booking are made less than seven days prior to the start date of the surf lesson no refund will be given and you will be responsible for paying the balance on the original booking.

In the rare event that Sligo Surf Experience decides that sea, surf or weather conditions are unsafe prior to your surf lesson or for any other unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone a surf lesson, even at short notice. If your surf lesson is cancelled by us before the start date we can offer you a full refund or a credit note to the value of your original surf lesson so that you can re-schedule your surf lesson for another suitable date and time.

If sea, surf or weather conditions change drastically or become unsafe during the surf lesson, your surf lesson may be cancelled by your surf instructor at short notice. Safety is always our number one priority and your surf instructor and/or the Sligo Surf Experience manager will have the final say in all matter.
Sligo Surf Experience monitors the weather forecast closely upon booking surf lessons and in the days leading up to all surf lesson. Surf forecasts are not always accurate and a situation could arise where the conditions are deemed unsuitable or unsafe by us on the day of your surf lesson despite what the surf forecast predicts. If the waves are too big, the wind is too strong or the tides are unsuitable your surf lesson may be postponed or cancelled at short notice.
In rare unforeseen circumstances when the conditions are deemed unsafe by us prior to your lesson you will be entitled to a full refund.
Sometimes, even when conditions are deemed safe to proceed with a surf lesson conditions can change rapidly such that your surf instructor decides to cancel the surf lesson and return to the meeting point. For example, changing wind, swell, tide or unsafe sea conditions due to marine life or other hazards such as debris or pollution.
In these situations, it is not our policy to offer full refunds, however, depending on the situation and how long the surf lesson was running before cancellation, we may offer a full or partial refund or offer to reschedule your surf lesson at your convenience.
The activities of surfing and bodyboarding carry a degree of risk to both people and property, even if enjoyed under proper supervision by qualified instructors and experts. All surfers participating in surf lessons must sign a surf lesson sign in sheet before going to the beach to go surfing. No sign, no surf.
It is the responsibility of the individuals themselves and/or group leaders, parents, guardians or teachers to sign in on the surf lesson form. All surf lesson participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit and able to participate and in good general health before, during and after the lesson. People should not participate in any surfing lesson if they are suffering from a heart condition or if they are pregnant
The surf sign in sheet is a standard waiver form. It is a release of liability and assumption of risk agreement. It states that you declare yourself or any minor participant to be physically and mentally sound and healthy.
You should listen carefully to your surf instructor's advice at all times. You must understand that it is your own responsibility to take care of your own safety in so far as is reasonable.

Signing the form means you understanding of the foregoing risks and agree not to sue and to release from all liability and to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Sligo Surf Experience and it instructors and staff for any damage or injury arising out of the surfing activities regardless of the cause.
Signing a surf lesson form implies that permission is given for a participant's contact details to be entered on the Sligo Surf Experience data base. Your information is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988 and this information will not be shared with any third parties.
All participants are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before start time. The meeting point for surf lessons is at the main car park, Shore Road, Strandhill. The surf lesson will start without you if you arrive more than 15 minutes late and you risk missing the lesson completely. If a customer or client arrives for their surf lesson after the stated time, Sligo Surf Experience reserve the right to start the surf lesson without this individual or group without issuing a refund.
We will always try hard to accommodate customers in extenuating circumstance (i.e. vehicle problems, traffic jams, parking issues) but we need to consider the needs of other surfers, who do not wish to be kept waiting.
If you have paid for your surf lesson in full and you are too late for your surf lesson, Sligo Surf Experience will offer you credit on your surf lesson to reschedule the surf lesson at the earliest possible convenience.
