Fully guided 2.5 hr bodyboard experience. All bodyboarding equipment is provided. Suitable for beginners and improvers. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Bodyboarding is a safe and accessible introduction to the sport of surfing.
All necessary surfing equipment (soft surfboards, warm wetsuits and boots) and storage for personal belongings.

Swimming gear, a towel, water resistant suncream and a back pack for belongings.

Essential Sligo surfing information
Our surf lessons in Strandhill last two and a half hours from start to finish. This includes time for our meet and greet, changing, beach talk, surf lesson and changing after the surf lesson. But please allow three hours for your visit to our surf school including fifteen-minute arrival and sign in time and fifteen minutes to get changed afterwards and say goodbye.
Sligo Surf Experience asks customers are asked for each surf lesson to arrive early to Strandhill as latecomers may delay the class for the rest of the group. In extreme situations, latecomers may miss out on the surf lesson altogether.
For every surf lesson we run in Strandhill, we employ a minimum one to eight instructor-student ratio which means you'll get plenty of surfing tips and an instructor will always be nearby to assist if necessary. Your safety is our number one priority.

Sligo Surf Experience runs two to four surf lessons per day in summer. As surf lessons in Strandhill depend on the changing tides at the beach, surf lesson times can vary from day to day and week to week as the time of high tide changes and due to the effects of spring and neap tides. Our most frequent times for surf lessons in Strandhill are 9 am, 10.45 am, 12.30 pm, 2.15 pm, 3.30 pm or 5.15 pm
Our surf school in Strandhill is open for surf lessons every weekend in March, April and May as well as in October and November. All surf lessons in Strandhill, whether pre-booked or walk-in, are weather permitting. When the surf forecast is bad, we will try and give as much notice as possible in the event of cancellation (24 – 48 hours). However, in the interest of safety, lessons can be cancelled at any time, up to ten minutes before the lesson.
If Sligo Surf Experience decides to cancel your surf lesson in Strandhill due to poor surfing conditions, you will be offered a full refund or a gift voucher for an equal amount.
If the instructor has decided to go ahead with a lesson, the lesson may still be cancelled at any time by the instructor for any appropriate reason (a sudden change in weather conditions such as surf, tide or wind conditions, hazardous sea conditions etc). Also, a surf lesson at Strandhill beach may be cancelled due to a participant becoming ill, receiving an injury or being deemed unfit to surf or some unforeseen situation. Refunds in this instance will be offered according to the refund policy set out in our terms and conditions.
