Sligo Surf Experience Blog
Update December 2024
7 December 24
Aloha and welcome to the Sligo Surf Blog. I hope everyone is staying cozy and warm this weekend as Storm Darragh rips along the west coast.

Winter Round Up

Myself and the entire Sligo Surf Experience team and our friends at the National Surf Centre would like to thank every single surfer and bodyboard, young and old, large or small who visited our surf school this year. Thank you so much. And I would also like to personally thank my hard working team of professional instructors. Another season – another dream team of instructors.
National Surf Centre on Nationwide

The Surf Centre has been a game changer for the surf schools and the surf club this year. The surf club ran some amazing events including the Wipeout Festival and the Halloween Fancy dress surf event. And the Sligo Surf team were super stoked to move into our new a purpose built surf school unit. We couldn’t ask for a better home for our surf school. And we are excited for next year to continue to operate as one of Ireland’s leading surf schools.

The Nationals

The surf practice paid off when I was able to hold off my arch-nemesis Martin ‘TK’ Kelly from Portrush Surf School and Andy ‘AK’ Kilfeather to take my third national championship title in a row at Tullan Strand in November. Andy had me beat with ten seconds to go. But the wave gods shined on me and sent a little wave my way. I was able to get the score I needed to take the win as the buzzer went. Until next year Andy.
Christmas Time

And Sligo Surf Experience friends far and wide would be delighted with one of their own surf school hoodies or t-shirts. Our comfy, soft and eco-friendly surf school merchandise is available on sligosurfshop.com. Choose your own colour, style and size and it will get drop shipped straight to your door in eco-friendly packaging by our partners over at Teemill.
