We are running surf camps and daily lessons April 14 – 18 at 12 pm and April 21 – 25 at 10 am. Our summer surf camps run Monday to Friday each week in June, July and August. Surf camps last 2.5 hours per day and all equipment is provided.

We will be adding new surf sessions and special events, like surf yoga and level 2 surf coach events, over the new few weeks. So keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. We are stoked to begin our 2025 season comfortably settled into our new surf school unit at the back of the National Surf Centre. We are delighted to offer best-in-class facilities at the National Surf Centre with toilets, male and female changing rooms and hot showers for after your surf lesson at Strandhill Beach.

Yes, we had to say goodbye to our beloved surf school van, Mellow Yellow. But our new surf centre unit is fully stocked with new, super warm 5 mm Tiki wetsuits and Alder boots. And we have an excellent range of Alder, Tiki and Ocean and Earth beginner and intermediate surfboards and pro-bodyboards for you to use this season.

We have our customers covered. From aspiring bodyboarders, to frothing surfers. From surf camp heroes to weekend warriors. From big groups to one to one lessons. From stag surf parties to corporate work groups or school tours. We are better equipped to bring all kinds of groups and all kinds of people for the best surf experiences in Sligo out at Strandhill Beach.

Goodbye winter – Hello spring

Our early season customers enjoyed two weeks of great weather and waves before the spring equinox. As excited as we are about the incoming summer, myself and the other surf instructors are a little sad to say goodbye to the winter. We have made the most of our time off by chasing the best swells up and down the west coast. Although there will be a few tasty summer swells, it is a little sad to say goodbye to the epic winter surf for another eight months. It was an epic winter of surf and I got to surf some of my favourite surf spots in Sligo, Donegal and Clare.

One of the best swells of 2024 hit Aileens under the Cliff of Moher on December Friday 13th, unlucky for some. The legendary Aussie surf videographer Tim Bonython was there to capture the action. I caught one of my best waves of the year that day, which made its way into Tim's highlight video about the swell, along with some epic wipeouts. Check out Tim's Vlog on his YouTube channel to see all the insane action from the swell.

We look forward to seeing you back at Strandhill Beach. Even if you are not surfing but are in the area, come over and say hello at our new surf school location. Remember, you can book online on our website. But if you have any other questions or queries, send us an email or give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
