Aloha and welcome to the brand new Sligo Surf Experience blog!

The Sligo Surf Experience blog will fill you in on all the latest news and events happening at our surf school in Strandhill and all the fun things to do in Sligo.

As well as being a professional bodyboarder and a busy surf school manager, I also love to write. So I am delighted to have a new surfing blog where I can share lots of surfing hints and tips. I am also passionate about Sligo surfing and Strandhill history.

In addition to lots of Sligo surf reports, this blog will be an essential guide to Surfing in Sligo. But there is more to Sligo than just surfing. Sligo Town is Ireland's Adventure Capital. There are lots of things to do in Sligo, so many unique Sligo walks, Sligo Kayak Tours and plenty of hiking and biking adventures.

I am also passionate about sharing the history of Sligo surfing and Strandhill village and the Coolera peninsula.

Surf lessons

Our surf lessons page makes is easy to book a surf or bodyboarding experience for you or your friends, family or group. Check your desired dates for availability and book you or your group in via our easy and secure booking system. You will then receive a booking confirmation information email with all necessary information: where to find us, what to bring and details of our covid safety policy. If you have any questions, we are always only an email or a phone call away.

Another feature I am excited about is our new and improved Sligo Surf Experience Gift Voucher page

. This page makes it easier than ever to purchase a Sligo surfing gift voucher for a surf lesson in Strandhill. Gift vouchers for our surf school in Strandhill are valid for five years. A Sligo Surf Experience gift voucher is the perfect birthday or Christmas gift for that special surfer in your life.

Simply select the gift voucher amount, enter your details or the gift voucher recipients' details if you are buying for someone else, personalise it with your own message and enter your credit card details. Then you or the gift voucher recipient will receive an email with the voucher for their surf lesson in Strandhill. You can print your gift voucher out if you would like to pop it in an envelope and deliver it as a present.

Surf camps

Our 2022 surf camps are open for bookings via our Sligo Surf Camp page.

The Sligo Surf Experience five day summer camps are available at a 20% discount. Places are limited so early booking is recommended. You can book online now or email us for more information. Our most popular summer camp is our Ocean Warrior surf camp. Surf lessons in Strandhill are a great way to build a young person's confidence and their understanding of the ocean. The summer camp is designed to bring out the inner Ocean Warrior in every participant regardless of ability. Summer camp participants will learn to surf and a lot more in a safe, fun, structured environment. All Strandhill surf camps are personally supervised by Sligo Surf Experience owner Seamus Mc Goldrick, an experienced professional surfing coach.

Sligo Surf Shop

All our Sligo Surf Experience and Ocean Warrior surf camp hoodies and t-shirts are available from on our online store Sligo Surf Shop.

In addition to our classic range, we also have range of funky and comfy beachwear designs that will keep you cool at the beach this summer. Our partners Teemill are leading the way when it comes to eco-fashion. Organic natural fibres only are used in our products, which are printed in the UK in a factory powered by renewable energy.

And finally, our Sligo Surf Experience blog! This is the website feature I am most excited about. I should probably keep the upcoming blogs a surprise but expect plenty of news, surf tips and interesting articles on Strandhill and surfing in Sligo.
